July 2011 more than naked
July 23rd & 24th 2011, ImPulsTanz / Vienna (Intensive)
Ruhestandstanz A warm-up session will wake up our bodies and we will softly stretch and strengthen our bodies. We will have a lot of fun with dance combinations, which are always focused on certain things, such as jumps, turns and the shifting of weight. We will find joy with dancing with good music as well as in silence. The goal is to re-experience the body within this week and discover new ways of using the body. We will find virtuosity in our body and ways of expressing it. Every body has its limits - we will regognise them, work with them and try to go beyond the scope of them. Time for the retirement dance! "The main topic will be the music of the 1960ies and 70ies. We will explore the power of this music and ist lyrics and revive the Zeitgeist, bring it to the here and now, into our bodies, take off but still stay on the ground. Break on through to the other side!" (Doris Uhlich) July 18th - 22nd 2011, ImPulsTanz / Vienna (5 days à 1h45min)
June 2011 What approaches can be found to develop a contemporary performance with a historical subject is? How to dissect a text, to look at topics and themes from different angles and how to analyze? What dynamic lies in text? How does the body become the center of a performance? In this seminar the rebellious Maid of Orleans is the fuel for thought, performative ideas and practical experiments. Past is linked to the presence and finds relevance. Doris Uhlich, who developed the performance "Johnannen" with women from Mannheimfor the Schillertage in 2009, gives both an insight into her artistic work as well as impetus to the theoretical and practical work with text and body. June 7th - 9th 2011 16. Internationale Schillertage

Starting from the famous solo "The Dying Swan", the Viennese dancer and choreographer Doris Uhlich together with the participants of the workshop developes a choreographic project. In a physical examination of the classical heritage of dance they together test contemporary forms of dance. Ending the workshop is a final showing of the results of this process. |
